The Miami Television News (MTN) student organization is a student-run broadcasting program at Miami University in Ohio. The organization produces and distributes weekly news broadcasts from its on-campus studio, covering a wide range of topics, including academics, athletics, and campus life in the Oxford, Ohio, area.
MTN provides students with hands-on experience in journalism, television broadcasting, studio production, sports reporting, video editing, scriptwriting, entertainment media, and more. The organization welcomes students from all backgrounds who are passionate about media and storytelling to join and develop their skills in a professional, collaborative environment.
The program has undergone several student-led rebrands over the years. Notably, the organization has consistently incorporated Miami University's signature red and white color palette, along with modern sans-serif typefaces, to maintain a cohesive and professional visual identity.

Icon Design: The icon design is inspired by the original lockup used by the organization as of 2023. This new iteration features a geometrically precise redesign of the Tri-Delt Sundial, a well-known landmark on the Miami University campus. The line weights have been carefully selected to align with the university’s official brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and visual harmony.
Wordmark Design: The proposed MTN wordmark features a custom adaptation of Proxima Nova Bold, incorporating a distinctive slit beneath the "T." As a university-approved typeface, it pays homage to the original MTN wordmark while embracing a sleek, modern aesthetic commonly seen in global broadcast networks.
